Australia’s festival season is fast approaching. Charli XCX, Clairo and beabadoobee are headlining Laneway, Jamie xx will play Meredith and Beyond the Valley will see acts like . After a few years of tumultuous cancellations, this summer looks set to be a return to festival season as we love it. Which leads to the inevitable question: but, what will we wear?

If this year’s editions of Coachella and Glastonbury are any indication, whimsical flower crowns and vests that resemble a dream-catcher are (thankfully) a thing of the past. Casey Lewis of After School declared that jeans and a t-shirt were the unofficial uniform of Coachella this year, while Kendall Jenner made headlines with her understated all-black look. The message is clear: less is more, comfort is key.

But when you consider this new era of low-key festival style, there’s really no one better to take notes from than the Noughties poster girls. Kate Moss stomping through the mud in Hunter Wellington boots, Alexa Chung balancing plastic cups in a slip dress with a Barbour jacket on top, and Sienna Miller rocking her iconic mini-dress-and-uggs combo.

Here, we break down three legendary looks and show you how to recreate them at The Galeries.
