Living in the era of micro-trends, the bubble-up effect (a term used to describe a trend that began on the streets rather than the runways) and everything-core, what’s hot changes head-spinningly fast and yes, sometimes it’s giving Linda Blair in the Exorcist trying to keep up. But while some trends are blink-and-you’ll miss them, others become so ubiquitous that, for a period, they feel inescapable. Case in point: the reigning motifs of recent years.

Cast your mind back a few years ago and you’ll remember that in 2022 you couldn’t open Instagram without butterfly brandished fashions flooding your feed. Then, in 2023 bows – big, small and satin – were inescapable as brands like Simone Rocha and Sandy Liang attached them to almost every design they sent down the runway. But it seems this year, we can’t shake our obsession with coquettish fashion because the red carpets, runways and everything in between are all saying the same thing; fashion is firmly in its rose era. Printed on t-shirts, pinned on as a Carrie Bradshaw-esque brooch or recreated with puffy, petal-like skirts, the rose renaissance is here and it’s actually kind of groundbreaking. If you’re ready to embrace the trend – here’s our favourite pieces to shop at The Galeries now.

Rose Printed Midi Skirt, $150 from Incu on Ground Floor

The kind of piece you’d imagine Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy wearing with a white business shirt to a gala, this skirt is your ticket to nailing ‘90s minimalism.

Rosie Blazer in Black, $220.00 from Blanca on Ground Floor

The classic black blazer gets an update with a ruffly rose on the lapel – a subtle nod to Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic SATC rosette that you can even wear to the office.

Single Rose Tights, $16.00 from Dangerfield on Lower Ground

Sheer black tights with a singular long stem rose are a little bit punk, and a great way to bring a bit of romance to an all black ‘fit.

Black Basic Jersey Rose Relaxed T-Shirt, $195, from Ganni on Ground Floor

A washed out band t-shirt, but instead of pledging your allegiance to rock and roll, you’re announcing yourself as a disciple of Scandi style.
